We got our hands on some footage of the show and wanted to share it with you. Not only can you find each individual song on youtube, but you can watch 30 minutes of the performance courtesy of Virb.com, right here on our myspace!

El Corazon & Moneta's "Heroes" EP

So I am sitting here today, waiting for the video from our show at Hot Topic to finish rendering, and I was just thinking of how amazing this weekend has been. Two shows with Moneta, back to back, playing to a completely pack Hot Topic crowd, and then an almost sold out El Corazon crowd.
Would you believe that the hard work of all the bands brought us to less than 100 people from selling out El Corazon. Amazing. Pretty much standing room only, it was rad.
Man Down Medic started the show, and I love this band. They are so dynamic and have such a cool vibe to all of their songs. I suggest you all check them out if you haven't already. www.myspace.com/mandownmedic. They played a new song I think, I feel kinda bad because in the craziness of getting our gear ready I couldn't really watch them as much as I would have liked too, I guess that means I have to go to their next show ;). They started to play, "Extra-Extra," which was their last song, and I had to pee like a motha, so during the bridge I navigated through the tight crowd as fast as I could. I made it or so I thought. On my way back I was yelling, "I'm supposed be on stage, let me through let me through!"

We started our set a little differently this time, opening with "Fallen From You," and trying out a new thing with lighting. The Sound guy was spot on and the intro went so well. I think it really got people into it. All of our friends were pressed up to the stage and it's always reassuring seeing faces in a crowd you know, smiling at you. Thank you all.

Here is our setlist by the way -
Fallen From You
The Games We Play
Disguise
Hostage of My own Heart
August
My Relief

We did forget to mention our next show, but Megan and Ash our merch girls, did a great job telling people about it at the table, so thank you girls you rock!

After our set, we loaded everything into the van, and Kevin and I raced to find parking. After exploring most of Seattle, we decided to park illegally at the venue anyway. We unfortionately missed most of Endeverance, but we made it for Moneta.

I don't have much to say except for it being the best show I have seen in a long time. The new songs are so good and they are so natural on stage. They are going to be huge, very very soon.
In the middle of their set, they walked of stage, changed into their clothes from "The Getaway," video, and came out to a raised red curtain, with lights casting their shadow on the curtain, while they started to play their new songs, the curtain dropped and the show was on. They ended their set with "Don't Stop Believing," by Journey. What a way to end a show.

After the show we all came back to Kevin's house for an after party with the band and his roomies. We stayed up until like 4am just talking about how great of a weekend it was.

Well we are 13 days from our next show at King Cat Theatre w/Daphne Loves Derby and I have to go promote for it, so I'm out!

See you then!

MONETA'S SET-

Hot Topic Acoustic Show!

So I just got back home from our acoustic in-store performance with Moneta, at the Everett Mall Hot Topic, and it was so much fun. Without very much promotion we packed the place! Addy, the store manager, who also loves Moneta, had set us up in the store window display and everyone walking by stopped in for at least a song or two.
The window display stage was small, and only fit two people, which is fine because just Chris and I were performing that night anyway. Kevin was busy taking photos for us and running our sound, and Tori was helping at the Merch table with Meggo!

We started the set with "The Games We Play." Usually we have this song follow our intro/first song live, but acoustically there really isn't a better song to start with. At the start of the song the place was packed and by the end of it, customers couldn't even walk in to shop, (sorry guys, lol)!

Recently, we made the choice to tune all of our guitars up a half step to what's called standard tuning, and I must say it made a huge difference for Chris and his comfort level as a vocalist. He really showed a level of confidence and control at this acoustic show, which is so hard. As a vocalist who normally sings harder, more energetic music, stripping it down to just an acoustic guitar leaves your voice vulnerable and exposed. Chris isn't affected by this at all. He still sings with as much energy and emotion as he does live with the full band. Anyway, it made me smile listening back and hearing him sing so well. He is such a talented vocalist and on behalf of the entire band we feel so lucky to have his talents on guitar along with his voice.

Well back to the show. We played all of our songs except for our new one, which we were saving for our show the next day at El Corazon. Ending the set with my personal favorite, "August," the reaction we got from the intimate crowd was so uplifting and was a great start to what would become the best weekend I have had in a long long time.

Right after we played I helped Moneta setup and that was a ton of fun finding room. I think it worked out better though, because the small size of the stage made Chris B and Jerry have to play pretty much in the Audience, which you know they loved. :)
I ran sound for the rest of their show, and besides learning that Taylor Guitars are rediculiously bassy, I also notice the individual control each member had over their instruments and voice. They played some of their new songs off their new EP, "Heroes," and some of the old favorites, like "Kid Go," which was sort of an influence for our name in a way, but that's a different blog all together.

Overall the Hot Topic crew, like Addy and District Manager Chuck, were on top of everything. It was such a great show, and I don't think there would have been a better way to start off a weekend!
